Maintenance Matters
Cool season and warm season grasses have different maintenance schedules and mowing requirements, but for all grass types annual fertilizing, weed control, mowing, and leaf raking is the best way to keep your lawn healthy.
Cool season grasses require fall fertilization to promote density, root growth and color, and to decrease watering, spring mowing, weeds and disease.
Cool season grasses should be mowed to a height of 2" - 3".
Warm season grasses call for spring fertilization to promote healthy root and stem growth. Mow bermudagrass to a height of " to 1"; mow zyosiagrass to a height of <" to 1".
